Dorje has been consistently working as a voice artist and actor for 25 years.

After starting with acting classes at 11 years old and soon voicing campaigns for his copywriter Uncle, he promptly graduated from John Curtin School of Performing Arts, obtained a film degree, a law degree, and finally the prestigious acting degree from NIDA.

Music has always been a big part of his life, and he was lead singer and songwriter in one of WA’s best loved punk bands ‘Pailface’ and went on to perform with ‘Manchoir’, an all male a cappella heavy metal group, in front of thousands at The Big Day Out and Splendour In The Grass.

Acting wise he has recently starred in the feature films Spin Out and The Tail Job, treaded the boards in Riverside Theatre’s Hakawati, Sport for Jove’s The Three Sisters, and Bell Shakespeare’s As You Like It and hit the TV screen in Wonderland, Sea Patrol, and Home and Away.

The Voice Over Booth is where Dorje does some of his best work, and he has established himself as one of Australia’s premier artists. He has voiced for 10 TV channels, winning numerous Promaxxx awards, and lent his voice to products and companies from around the nation and across the world.

Dorje loves nothing more than collaborating with writers, producers, directors and sound engineers to find the perfect match for their creative vision.   The voice is, after all, an instrument, and with the right phrasing, intonation, articulation, accent, and dynamics, there is nothing more pleasurable than finding the perfect read to float over the sumptuous sound bed of any slice of audio inspiration.

All that, and he finds it a hell of a lot of fun!

  1. Love finding an excuse to use Dorje- always adds that extra 10% and isn’t that what you want from every voice?

    Shaun Fay

  2. Dorje’s talents run deep. He has a unique voice and the ability to apply it to just about any kind of read.

He brings discipline, experience and enthusiasm to every session and a willingness to try options and take risks in performance. Having worked with him for several years, I can honestly say that a soundtrack with Dorje’s voice is always something special.

Derek Allan - Zig Zag Lane

  3. Dorje nails the brief every session I work with him. He takes direction so well (he hardly needs it, he delivers what I had in mind first up anyways!).
He’s really great to work with and we are lucky to have him voicing our promos.

Andy Wallace - Producer at Universal Channel

  4. Dorje has been the voice and SOUL of World Movies for many years.

His professionalism and versatility allow us to use him on almost every project for the channel.

To top it all off, he’s a bloody legend!

Seamus Cloonan - Senior Creative for World Movies
