Rew Hazzard
Biography
Rew (Andrew) Hazzard is a two-time Heath Ledger Scholarship Nominee and has worked professionally in leading, supporting and guest roles across film, television and stage.
Rew played the leading role of Jack Kerrans alongside Nammi Le, Peter O’Brien and David Field in AFI / AACTA Award-winning writer-director John Duigan’s feature film Careless Love, the filmmaker behind classics The Year My Voice Broke, Flirting and Sirens. It’s release in Australia was praised as “a lyrical and moving experience” by respected magazine FilmInk.
Hazzard’s last stage show saw him play the supporting role of Sy Spector in the Australian premiere national tour of the The Bodyguard.
Andrew played the leading role of Melchior Gabor in Sydney Theatre Company’s production of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Spring Awakening, under the co-artistic direction of Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton.
He also play the supporting role of Zeke Baylor in Disney Theatrical Production’s Australian premiere of the Broadway musical High School Musical, the stage adaptation of the highly successful movie starring Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens.
Guest roles in TV Movies and Series Brock, Love Child, Underbelly: The Golden Mile, Home & Away, Crownies, Cops L.A.C, Dance Academy, My Place and All Saints.
Rew has appeared in numerous commercials, both nationally and internationally.
His voice work has spanned films, activations, events, audiobooks, dynamics, animatics, narrations, presentations, promos and commercials – for creative studios, domestic and global corporations, and brands across a wide range of sectors. He has a diverse client base of companies, radio stations, television channels, and advertising agencies.
Other voice highlights include being cast as a voice actor on Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and the narrator for The Bright Side, a memoir of Australian Football League champion Jack Riewoldt who won three premierships and has kicked the most first goals of any player in AFL history. Following this, he also narrated The Good Fight by Olympic Australian boxer Harry Garside.
Rew is a graduate of Actors Centre Australia, a professional acting school in Sydney with Hugh Jackman taking patronage.
