Austin MacDonald
Biography
Austin MacDonald (he/him) is a Naarm/Melbourne-based actor, singer, dancer, songwriter, and guitarist. Austin graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) in 2024 and his credits include: ‘William’ (adapted from Ernesto) in ‘Hibernation’ (dir. Maude Davey), Usher in ‘Everybody’ (dir. Isabella Vadiveloo), B in ‘Image of an Unknown Young Woman’ (dir. Alice Qin) and Gaev in ‘The Cherry Orchard’ (dir. Bagryana Popov). He has also performed scenes from ‘Romeo and Juliet’ (dir. Mark Wilson) and ‘LOVE’ by Patricia Cornelius (dir. Tahlee Fereday).
Austin has been involved in various script developments and staged readings including ‘The Weight of Gravity’ (written by Jason O’Leary), and ‘All Boys’ (written by Xavier Hazard), and went on to play the role of Scott in the Australian Premiere production of ‘All Boys’. Austin trained and performed at Show Chorus level with the Young Australian Broadway Chorus (2019-2022), including tap, jazz and hip-hop. Austin loves embodying both classic and new stories across all mediums that resonate and entertain.
