Tara Colegrave is best known for her role on BBC CBeebies and Ministry of Sound Radio. She is a vibrant, energetic and very personable TV and radio personality.
Tara’s love and passion for performing grew from her childhood with her debut on TV aged 6months and solo dance routines aged four.
Her genuine presence and sparkle landed Tara her first presenting role on the National children’s programme Y? for the Nine Network. As well as this, she developed her skills in radio, hosting 7nights a week, a local dance music program ‘wildnights’ on Brisbane’s River 94.9fm.
Her zest for life saw her continue to explore and grow from the world around her, with numerous overseas travelling stints, performing in University stage productions and the completion of two degrees: Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education (Sec) in Drama and Sociology at the University of Queensland.
Whilst completing her studies she hosted the National radio show for the ‘Ministry of Sound Australia’ broadcast on Nova fm. This lead to MCing numerous events including Shave for a Cure for the Leukemia foundation, which even saw her fundraise and shave off her own hair. Not stopping there she even squeezed in a year long acting course with the Studio for Actors.
The desire to experience the broader scope of the entertainment world saw Tara jetting off to live in London. Here she continued to multitask by teaching and working for Ministry of Sound radio each week, hosting a Saturday afternoon show that broadcast Internationally online. MOS tv began and Tara was quick to be given one of the presenter gigs interviewing world renowned DJ’s at huge European festivals.
Peppering this life experience with some more travel, producing a song and a few colourful jobs, Tara’s pull back to television was imminent and she landed the role of sole presenter for the Europe’s No1 children’s TV channel CBeebies.
Since being relocated by the BBC in 2010 Tara has continued to entertain many with her live stage shows, tv broadcast, newsletters and helpful educational/entertaining tips.
Tara has an infectious laugh and an insatiable appetite for life. She is fun loving, honest, warm and not afraid to play the fool. She has recently had her own child to perform too and hopes one day to build a school for homeless youth whilst continuing to live a very fulfilling and dynamic career in media.
