Karen’s training involved a year at EORA College of Performing Arts (03) where she was awarded a state medal for theatre performances and practices, and three years training at QUT completing a bachelor of Fine Arts Acting in 2006.
Her theatre credits at QUT include the lead role of May Daniels in Once in a Lifetime directed by Don Finn (06),
Sue Winters and Jill Mathins in Lion in the Streets directed by Leonard Meenach (06),
Mary Brenham in Our Country’s Good directed by Kate Cherry (06),
Olivia in Twelfth Night directed by Anna Volska (05),
various roles in TERRAIN! TERRAIN! TERRAIN! (05)
and Cleménce in Camille directed by Michael Futcher (05).
Externally Karen played the role of Jane Seymour in Anne of the Thousand Days directed by Christian Heim (06),
Mrs. Bortell’s and Mrs. Hollower in Capricornia directed by Liza-Mare Syron (03) and along with the physical theatre company ‘Legs on the Wall’ she performed at the Sydney Festival 2004 directed by Wesley Enoch.
Karen has acted in several short films and film scenes, as well as playing Prince in the musical We Will Rock You (05) and enjoying a stint in stand-up comedy. Karen is passionate about screen and stage acting and loves the freedom and thrill of extreme sports, dance, music, singing and art.
She holds a current automobile license, plays violin and guitar and has a background in ballet and modern dance.
