It was not until Jennifer Campbell threw down the gauntlet to the acting world and wrote, produced and performed a lead role in Touched by Fellini, a 30 minute film starring some of Australia’s leading talents (Alex Dimitriades, Diana Glenn, Vince Sorrenti, Alan Flower and Paul Barry to name but a few) that we started to see her career take off. Jennifer Campbell. Proactive. Interchangeable words.
Performing in a variety of roles since then, playing anything from a sexy flirty femme fatale to an older, broken mother with a 20 year old son, a girl playing a boy playing a girl, a young mum, or a ditzy flatmate, Jennifer’s enthusiasm for all interesting roles, her dry sense of humour and self-mocking nature brings an honesty and versatility to all her performances.
After completing various acting courses over the last 10 years in both London and Sydney, Jennifer has appeared in leading Australian television dramas, award winning short films, commercials and trod the boards in independent theatre.
When she isn’t acting, Jennifer uses her Bachelor of Business to run Chester Productions, successfully selling the Italian rights to Touched by Fellini, and producing a variety of projects that she passionately believes in. Her last theatre production that she produced was The Packer starring Jay Ryan and directed by Jeremy Lindsay Taylor at the Old Fitzroy Theatre, selling out the run making it the most successful production for that theatre in 2008. She is currently securing funding for a short film she wrote, aiming for a 2009 production. So when she isn’t acting or producing, she’s writing. And learning Italian. And saving for a scooter.
Like we said. Proactive…but also quirky, fun and talented.
