Session Singing

Adrian Payne is one of the most sought after session singers and voice over artists in Australia. Adrian's professional vocal experience extends from the 70s to the present day and includes a two year stint with Harry Miller's production of the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar, in which he was understudy for the lead roles of both Judas and Jesus. Experience and contacts from the "Superstar" engagement led Adrian into the world of studios and recording. Through television, cinema and radio commercials his voice has become familiar to audiences in Australia, New Zealand and the USA. Some of the big name advertisers that have used Adrian's voice include Coca Cola, McDonalds, Toyota, Tooheys, Colgate etc.

He has performed as a back-up singer in concerts, TV shows and recording sessions on countless occasions for artists such as Slim Dusty, Tom Jones, Shanley Del, Grace Knight, Jon English, Doug Parkinson etc.

In the late eighties Adrian was lead vocalist for The Tommy Emmanuel Band which toured the country and supported Joan Armatrading at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. Adrian's vocal & guitar talents were included as part of the Col Joye band, when he performed on tour with such legendary greats as Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry & The Everly Brothers in the highly successful "Legends of Rock" tour.

Composition credits for Adrian extend from the writing of documentary music to the complete scoring and performing of movie soundtracks. He has a songwriting contract with Polygram/South Music and is currently recording his own songs for an upcoming album.

He is at present involved in the co-production of Col Joye's latest album recordings.

Adrian's talent extends beyond music to narrating and acting engagements including voicing the part for "Dr. Robotnik" (a Sega World character), the narration for an aboriginal dreamtime story used in the recent 'water screen' production at Darling Harbour and appearing in the role of the alien in the feature film "Weird Ones".
